Description

This wooden bobbin is a reflection of the colours and textures I use in my abstract paintings. Unlike a painting, it is made to be held and touched thus bringing art closer to us. When I discovered the box of vintage bobbins they still had the silk thread wound on them. I unwound the thread carefully to save the long length, and to embed the history of the bobbin I then worked the silk back onto Khadi paper with oil pastels, inks and paints.
